Bob Davis

Sr. Field Engineer

Bob Davis is Senior Research Engineer primarily responsible for writing and implementing field protocols that measure whole building and heating/cooling equipment performance. Within his role, he conducts the training of field crews and performs quality assurance of their work. He has repeatedly served as field manager for studies conducted in single-family and manufactured homes, low and high-rise multifamily buildings, and commercial buildings, and has recently shepherded two large energy code studies to completion. Most of the work that Bob does feeds directly into Pacific Northwest policy-making processes. His clients have included U.S. Department of Energy, Bonneville Power Administration, Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance, Energy Trust of Oregon, Avista, Eugene Water and Electric Board, Puget Sound Energy, Lawrence Berkeley and National Renewable Energy Laboratories, and the Oregon, Washington, and Idaho Energy Offices. Previous to joining Ecotope, he worked for the Washington State Energy Office as an energy program evaluator. He is EPA-certified to handle refrigerants and held a limited electrical license to service HVAC equipment in Washington and Oregon. He is a member of the Northwest Power and Conservation Council Regional Technical Forum and regularly presents research results at ACEEE and ASHRAE conferences.
