Hyunwoo Lim, PhD

Energy Modeler

Hyunwoo Lim focuses on energy efficiency and sustainable design in buildings. He works on building energy models to show compliance with Evergreen Sustainable Development Standards (ESDS), Ultra High Energy Efficiency (UHEE) program applications, Washington State / Seattle Energy Code (WSEC / SEC) Section C407, and ASHRAE Standard 90.1 Part G for LEED. For his doctoral dissertation, he researched a stochastic building stock energy model to predict urban-scale building energy consumption. He has expertise in building science, HVAC systems, and advanced building energy modeling techniques. He is a skilled user of eQUEST, EnergyPlus and R. His research interests include large-scale building energy modeling, Bayesian calibration, building retrofit analysis, building energy efficiency, data analysis, and sustainable building design. His regular work includes energy code compliance, feasibility studies, and data analysis on research projects.
