Dwell Development announces the sale of a new home which participated in Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance and Washington State University Next Step Home program . Ecotope teamed with NEEA focusing on CO2 heat pump installations in Single Family housing. The project piloted the use of a Sanden CO2 Heat Pump system to provide all of the home’s space and domestic water heating with expected efficiencies of 300% over resistance heating. The system is being monitored to understand the performance of the heat pumps in NW climates and the specific application. Ecotope designed the CO2 combination heat plant, controls, distribution and metering for the project. Ecotope is also running the lab testing of the CO2 heat pump used as a combination space and water heating product.
