Gia Mugford

Technical Analyst

Gia Mugford is a Technical Analyst at Ecotope with more than 20 years of research experience emphasizing assembling and analyzing useful datasets. Gia focuses on evaluating existing buildings for energy and carbon footprint reduction. Her work includes project scoping, equipment selection, costing, savings estimates, utility rebate applications, and implementation support for decarbonization/electrification retrofit projects. She has facilitated several Northwest municipalities and the Seattle public school system in assessing their building stock and creating strategic plans to reduce their greenhouse gas footprints.

Gia’s skills include database design/management and design of data collection systems, building energy modeling and building energy systems commissioning. Using her architecture training, she works with Ecotope’s engineers to improve building envelope components in concert with new equipment to reduce total building loads. Gia is also an NXT Level II designated lighting retrofit specialist.
